Women’s History Month Reflection: Judlie Charles

I always tell myself that anyone can inspire you, but what you learn and take back with you causes real change in your life. As you grow up, you will be asked this question anywhere you go: "Who inspires you? Who/what is your inspiration?"

I would always give the cliché answer "my mom" or "my parents" because I never really thought about who inspires me in my life, but more about who motivates me to continue moving forward.

However, that is when I realized inspiration is something or someone who motivates you to be creative and original, to be you. My inspiration for Women's History Month is, and will always be, my mother and godmother.

They have helped me grow and express myself with no fear attached.

They have guided me through the most challenging moments in my life, and even when I would push them aside, they were still by my side. That is something I will never take for granted. They are the strongest people I know who continue to help me and others. And I truly aspire to grow and be as great of a person, mother, and wife as they are one day.

I’m Judlie Charles, and I serve at Rock Springs Elementary School in Apopka Florida. I work with the ASD students, which are mainly students who are within the spectrum (such as nonverbal students or autistic students)….I have been serving for NDMVA for 2 years now and am loving my second term.
