Women’s History Month Reflection: “Who is a woman who has inspired you in your life?”

“The MidYear 2024 conference, themed around "Leading Together," offered an unforgettable experience that reshaped my perspective. “

MidYear was a way for Vrushali to feel more connected to her team in Atlanta and other members across the country. She wrote this reflection a few days after she made it home from the MidYear conference in Baltimore, Maryland.

Volunteerism is in Taunya Scott Bourne's blood and holds a special place in her heart. Her service journey started about 13 years ago alongside her mom, Rosetta Carter, who served as the executive director of ACTION. She believes in serving the community and finds it imperative to support those in need.

Aubrey Whitaker, an Ohio Member, has chosen to dive deep into service in more ways than one. After swimming for 22 years, including four years with her college team at Youngstown State University, she exercises the diligence and hard work she learned through swimming into her service year.

"Learning about finances can release people from pressure and stress that they don't even realize they're under," Yvonne said. She is responsible for facilitating six finance classes a week for some of the most vulnerable populations in the United States: refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants.
